Cook 'n I
Danyel also got involved in a onetime project. He gathered a few musicians and formed the band Cook 'n I to perform a Dutch song. Actually a song in the Antwerp dialect. A song with a surplus value. A tribute to Antwerp.
'My native city Antwerp is a place with a past and a future. And there's a lot of people living there that come from all over the world. The mingle with the native Twirp and try to get by.
The song 'Antwerpen - ik hou van A' (Antwerp - I love you dearly) is about the fact that in a city like Antwerp, people have to find a way to communicate with one another. Through communicating all people will learn about each other worlds and find the positive vibes. The power of positive thinking is a part of human nature. You have to embrace it. That's why I wrote this song together with my dear friend Marty and took it to Antwerp Television. This simple anthem song only could come alive while breathing Antwerp air. A nice melting pot, near a river.'

On this page you can also find a free translation of the original lyrics. Enjoy the feeling.

Who knows anything about his neighbors these days, let alone about his culture
Just consider him your brother and take him to a your local snack bar
Welcome, shake my hand and don't you agree it's up to us
To solve what politicians can't
There's only one color and that's acajou

Antwerp, I love you dearly
Antwerp, I' cross my fingers for you
Antwerp, how do you do

We all walk together from Central Station to the Market Place
We talk to all the people that want the best for our city
Are you a local or not
Do you have a beard or not?
It really doesn't matter
Get it through your skull
That we are all getting a tan in the same sun

We love to have a beer in Antwerp because it's a fun place
Isn't it about time that all of us see the beauty of this city
To make sure that every street or square becomes a nice place to live
